Countries prosper by investing in quality not cutting corners and that is what America has become, a country that cuts corners. It is why the auto industry fell, why journalism has fell cause instead of preserving the quality we had, we have become slaves to the all-mighty dollar. Look at where we are in terms of education, its pathetic for the richest country in the world, we have fallen behind so mightily in sciences and math, things that are vital for the future of our country. And don't anyone bring up our elite college system that increasingly just turns out more and more students who are in debt, and promote the brain drain by ushering top students into majors that are reserved for mediocre minds, finance and business.
It's so funny that the Tea Party loves to paint 1950's America as the golden period, but not realizing why was. Taxes on the rich were exponentially higher and unionism was at its climax in America. America submitted itself to its doom when we began shuffling jobs out of this country. We stopped making things and producing things, Industry died and created the widespread inequality we have today. This country is so lost now it disturbs me.
The worship of money is what drove us down the hill and the worst part is how conservative America has convinced the masses of poor whites in this country to vote for them on issues that have nothing to do with the quality of their life. Joe the Plumber would rather make 10 dollars, have Jamal make 6 dollars and let the Koch brothers have 30 billion, instead of taxing the Koch brother to the point where they have 29 billion and him and Jamal each make 15.
