No, I'm just being honest. The media is always on the lookout for an artist they can promote to the masses as a "throwback" to the era of soul. The problem is, either they're hypnotized by style over substance (Winehouse), or its just flat-out boring (Adele). Both artists are talented to a certain degree, but making them out to these ground breaking artists is just insane. The media put them in that position because they so desperately want people like this to be recognized. But when it comes down to it, a handful of years down the road, both will be an afterthought. Winehouse rode exactly one album the last half decade of her life, while Adele has one album that went gangbusters. Congratulations on one being one-album wonders. Look at all the other groups who can boast the same credentials.

 I like Adele though.

dope find...adele is cool..extremely talented but as others said amy has that unique feel to her musicks

To even bring up Adele in this conversation is offensive to me.

I really don't see the hype in her. But its just me since shes clearly selling so well. I just don't like how over-produced her music sounds.

Amy really made an emotional connection through her voice. Adele seems so distant to me...and I'm not a fan of that folksy sounding music.
Oh yeah, and Frank > Back to Black

No comparison.

It just seems like Back to Black is when she got famous so people know that one more.

Hype? I don't necessarily think it can be called that since, they are both extremely talented and compared to other stars they didn't get the attention that they deserved, not that they wanted it. I think Amy was and Adele is amazing, and in a music industry were 99 percent of the artists getting hype, don't have a bit of talent, it would wrong to call them hyped up...

I don't understand why ppl keep using the word hype either. Adele sells so much because she makes great music. That's why she gets talks about, that's why she gets the attention, that's why she's popular.

If you don't get that might as well move on since her music is obviously not for you if you don't realize how good it actually is.

Madness. You would think Amy has been out years prior and influenced a whole generation before Adele came out with this reckless talk.

Adele has a stronger/more powerful voice but Amy definitely has the better music of the two by a long shot.

You can't just enjoy both of them?

NT dudes always wanna be elitist for no reason whatsoever, ya just saying Adele's album is average because everyone likes it.....21 is flawless hands down and anyone can relate to at least 5 songs on there, I love Amy as much as the next man and feel that Adele is a contemporary version of her. The hipsters love Amy because of her soulfulness and retro aura......and to the clown that commented on Adele's weight #cmonson 11 times outta 10 you'd smash
He wont go, One and Only > Amy's catalogue
