Well, at least in my opinion it has been overlooked. There are tons of gems that are hidden away in video games that go unrecognized for various reasons. Idont know if site like IGN and Gamespot do this already, but it would be cool to see them do a "Top 25/50/__ video game songs of..." annually.I'm sure I wouldnt be the only person looking and listening. I know YouTube has a few lists, but I think some of these composers need more recognition. Weather it triggers instant nostalgia and reminds you of a certain time, place, or�moment when you were playing the game, or if you just simply like the way itsounds, video game music is some of the best music around. Since there are no rules or boundaries, there is no one genre to place it. The same can be said formovie scores, but there's definitely a difference in the way it's used and heard by the player/watcher. With games, it's more of an experience thanbackground noise. Think about it.. I bet you can remember the music from a game you played 10 years ago easier than you can remember the music from a movie youused to watch. It's partly due to video games repetitiveness sometimes, but regardless, it's almost always memorable. If you're looking for a soundtrack to a game, Galbadia Hotel probably has it.
