why is this sport even in existance still?

easily the most garbage sport ever....

how dudes pitching perfect games hungover AND high on LSD?

how 60% of "good" players on 'roids?

how dudes blow their MCL out running to first base?

how do you even get injured playing baseball?

how only half the league got hitters for pitches? i.e. dudes who physically cant do ++!* but swing a bat

how half your leauge got a rule the other half doesnt?

how/why do these dudes even work out, tho?

baseball players are EASILY the least athletic "athletes"

nah, but forreally, why is baseball not extinct?

yall don't even got caps....so Boston and New York (the biggest markets) got the most money, and do the most...

it's like baseball is those two teams, and many other teams. once you "prove" yourself, you get picked up by Boston or New York....

i mean, a .300 batting average is AMAZING....

30% in any other sport is quite garbage....except like, shots on goal or something....

its just funny the "top performances" the "most rare statistics" in baseball have been completed by fat, out of shape, drunk and/or high dudes....

yall got literal ROTATIONS...like 3 different teams...

you could go to see your fav player and he doesnt even play.....lol

that's like an NBA team having 2 completely different groups of starters...

i could go on and on, but please, educate me about this terrible 'sport'

oh, okay.

sure i do....

i've hated baseball since a young lad...

the best argument, and most used argument i hear, is that hitting a baseball is the hardest feat in sports...

which, i counter with, dudes blow their MCL's out running bases....

lol

since you have it all figured out, why do u need people coming to defend the sport?

(rhetorical, no need to respond)

NT is slow, i like debate...

why so serious @ 11am?

i honestly do hate baseball, tho...

its cool to PLAY...but watching is THE WORST...

lil leauge world series > MLB

whenever i get into these arguments in person, the person becomes so visibily frustrated, no actual discussion takes place...

i figured the sports gurus in S&T would be able to better defend the sport...

are they NOT the most unathletic "athletes"?

who's less athletic?

is it not HILARIOUS that perfect games were pitched by dudes claiming to still be under the influence of LSD from the night before?

that numerous pitchers admitted to pitching drunk?

what other professional sport can you think of in which the participant can be intoxicated while competing?

like, maybe John Daily is more out-of-shape than a baseball player, but he's prolly a realistic model for about 40 percent of the sport....

like, who is the most athletic baseball player?

@bouncy ball....

oh you mean some of the most athletic humans in the species?

yeah, basketball is MUCH more entertaining than baseball....

you think somebody could get a triple-double drunk?

roll.gif

Ray Allen could hit 8 three-pointers in a game on LSD?

bouncy ball, like i was gonna be offended.

Football is the best sport. It's even managed the best, as a sport....has the best parity.....and that's all OUTSIDE of the actual sport...

think about how specialized each position's skillsets are...i mean, a center's skillset is VASTLY different from a tackle....a defensive tackle is vastly different from a defensive end...

a baseball player could literally play every position, and it really wouldnt matter...his skillset isnt much different, at all....outside of the pitcher and catcher, every other position is basically the same.

the short stop is prolly most athletic, no?

my thing is this; every sport has a pinnacle of entertainment-type situation...

like, basketball has the alley-oop/dunk.....football has the touchdown/big hit....soccer has the goal....

baseball has the homerun, true...but every play is "guy throws ball really hard, other guy either hits it or doesnt"

when throwing runners out, there isn't any "style" to it...i mean, you're throwing first base out...or second..or third...in a specfic order...

like a triple-play...its almost instinct...you're SUPPOSED to throw to third, then second, then first...doing anything other than that wouldnt be a successful triple play...

every homerun is the exact same...dude throws ball really fast and hard, other dude hits it, it travels outside the area of play...YAY

reggie bush and mike vick scoring TDs looks VASTLY different...

Lebron and Kobe scoring 2 are VASTLY different...

big roided batter hitting 95 MPH ball really far? wait, WHICH big roided batter?

i;d much ratther watch women's tennis....

enphan - it's just that EVERY year that baseball season comes along, the same tired "baseball sucks" thread and posts roll around. that's why you get the responses you've gotten. gotten to a point where why defend it? if someone doesn't like it, let em not like it. doesn't affect my enjoyment of the sport...
