Ankle problems... Need help!!

When I ball I rock those lace up ankle braces and they seem to help, but im not trying to rock those every time I wanna go for a run lol. And as far as what shoes I wear, its usually a pair of jordans (6,9,12) the most. Thinking of buying some zigtechs tho.

also make sure you dont over-train, cause that can also cause the same pain. and i have to disagree with kaycurrency on this, cause if your body is hurting somewhere. it means something is not right. enduring pain can only lead to more damage done to your body. dont ignore pain, it is a warning that something in your body is not functioning properly. pain will not go away if it is not taken care of.

You never experienced muscle pain while/after working out?.... or any muscle for that matter...

yeah, but that is totally different. muscle soreness or pain in your shin is not comparable. because your shin is a bone and not a muscle.

He said his shins get sore  and stiff like a Cramp....Bones don't cramp, Muscles do...

You ever heard of  "shin splints"...?

Most shin splints can be attributed to overloading the muscles of thelower extremities or biomechanical irregularities. Muscle imbalance, including weakened core muscles lead to more lower-extremity injuries;also the inflexibility and tightness of the gastrocnemius, soleus, and plantar muscles can contribute to shin splints. [sup][1][/sup]Increasing activity, intensity, and duration too quickly leads to shinsplints because the tendons and muscles are unable to absorb the impactof the shock force as they become fatigued; also, the tibialbone-remodeling capabilities are overloaded. Some experts believe thatthis pain is caused from disruption of Sharpey fibers that connect themedial soleus fascia through the periosteum of the tibia to insert intothe bone.[sup][2][/sup]With repetitive stress, the impact forces eccentrically fatigue thesoleus and create repeated tibial bending or bowing; thus, contributingto MTSS. The impact is made worse by running on uneven terrain, uphill, downhill, or hard surfaces. Improper footwear, including worn-out shoescan also contribute to shin splints.

i've had shin splints so i know how it feels. instead of pushing through you need to work out as hard as you can, not push yourself over the edge, cause shin splints mean that you do too much or that your body cant handle it. the more he'll do, it can only lead to more problems

All i'm saying is working out alone aint gonna stop his shins from hurting, he needs to stretch, run and stay hydrated too. Working out helps build muscle, he also needs to train these muscles by running.

....Thats like these guys who do all the squats and dead lifts in the world...but they still can't dunk a basketball. Why?...because they're building without training....

other than that, he needs to lose weight too.. cause he might not train enough, less bodymass will only benefit his health and his shin splints
