NOD32 and Kaspersky are the best options.

Any other anti-virus is a mistake.

just surf nt long enough you will get a software installed that alters your computer so you believe you have a virus and download a $30 software/anti virus

Norton is garbage. Handicaps the hell out of your computer.

I use Avast. It's free and I've never had a virus after a long career as a professional pr0n watcher.

norton is absolutely the worst antivirus software you can get.

take kaspersky nod32 or AVG. I personally use nothing because i am the internet.

Versions of Norton Before 2009, had a large footprint, and took up a lot of resources. Norton 2009 has got great reviews, though.

Personally I use NOD 32. If you want a free AV, I suggest Avira, then AVG.

A hardware firewall (router) + any AV product is the way to go.

Are macs susceptible to viruses? Yes, no OS is totally secure.

Are there viruses and exploits available for macs? Yes, there are exploits for every OS.

Is it common to get a virus on a mca? No, not really.

Why don't most people with macs use AV? There isn't the money in it that there is in the Windows OS, no matter what you hear, the market share for macsis still quite small. Virus and malware writers are in it for the money now. Big Market Share=more possible money.

I'm not a PC apologist, in fact, I have two macs running in my home network.
