there is obviously going to be some level of stress.
just think of the authority and power you are going to have to handle and be trusted with.

it would be nice if you had some sort of educational background in the field so once you are in you start with a higher pay.

one thing every cop ive talked to all tell me that you make less money the higher you move up in ranks. patrol is where you make the most, because you have a lot of opportunities for overtime and when you move up, that goes away.

benefits are great.

i agree with Greek(strange), i would get a degree or at least 60 college credits if you wanna start out well. Criminology degree here.

Pro - if you became a sheriff, you'd be getting paid and I think your children can easily get into college without pay much or nothing at all. Google it or something
