Any EMT workers on here??

Anyone on here is working as an EMT or know anyone?
What was the starting salary, and hours worked a week...
Also how long did it take for you to find a job?

I used to work as an EMT over here in Miami, Florida. I got a job quick right after I got my EMT certification, I started at $12/hr

I dont know, but I did take a first aid class the other day and the emt runnin it was fine...

I have my EMT license but never worked in an Ambulance because the pay here in California for an EMT-B is very low ($13/hour). I ended up getting my Phlebotomylicense and along with my EMT-B, I landed a part time job as an ED-Tech for a general hospital and a full time position for the State as a lab emergencyresponder. The pay is great and there's less stress to deal with. Unless your pursuing to become a paramedic or firefighter, then work for an ambulancecompany to gain som experience.

...i got a EMT-B license ...

One of the requirements is a CPT-1 License which is a Phlebotomy license. I deal with basic emergencies, vaccine handling, and PPE awareness forthe lab workers. They posted the position at my work's bulletin (general hospital) and I submitted my resume along with a cover letter. 2 months later, Igot a call for an interview.

BTW, they have phlebotomy programs for 2 weeks and depending on your performance during your externship, they might just hire you. Here in California, thestarting pay for phlebotomist is $23/hour. ED-techs makes more and if you work for the state, it's even better because of the benefits.
