i'm looking to pick up my first longboard ever, I've never ridden one ever.
But i've tried a kid's ripstik and liked the feeling of cruising on the streets so i'm goin to give longboarding a try

getting a no-name no brand board, just to take a feel to see if i like it.
Anyone got an idea how long will it be until I'm comfortable with riding it in the streets?
I got a pretty short board though.. it's 29 inches only.. I'm lookin only for commuting and cruising,
won't be riding downhill or anything and like that.

i longboard i have a arbor surfboard style, love it i cruise the city with it every weekend, i got used to it in like 2 or 3 weeks until i was confident enough to take it out to commute. mine is a little bigger then 29 in and i feel that was the best desicion, your curves are so much smoother on the bigger boards. get yours and switch the wheels to some fat soft ones, its butter. you will defintally not regret it getting the longboard!

I'm considering starting longboarding. I've rode a few in the stores and it's been nice. I just started learning to skateboard though so I wonder if the transition will be harder or easier. There's a big long helpful thread on this in the ISS skateboarding forums. I wish NT had a skateboarding forum.
