Any NTers ever try stand up comedy at an open mic night?

i'm dead serious, unless there's someone from on here in the audience that's gonna yell nt general when im on stage, i have enough gold from the akward sexual encounters thread by itself to  last me a good little while up there

ive been looking for this thread....ive been writing a few jokes and actually trying to form a bit of an act together. most jokes are about timing and delivery

I would love to try it somewhere nobody knows me.  I have 2 jokes I work on in my head all the time.  I try them out on the guy I work with, but he is tired of hearing it, so I get no good feedback anymore.  I have enough to last 30 seconds - a minute.  Definately could not fill 5 minutes with my original material.  I completely expect to be stonefaced off the stage.

And yes, it is timing and delivery.  Just ask Doug Benson.

im gonna do it again when i go to new york or if i go to san diego next week.

right now i was thinkin about just goin on about being at school and catching people lookin at porn on the campus computers, why almost all the characters in doug have pornstar names, skeeter valentine, lamar bone, chalky stuedabaker etc, talkin about stuff that goes on in clubs, guys being simps etc and just putting a funny twist to it.

ill probably do it in new york again though and have a few friends go so that i get somewhat of a positive response one way or another.

I did a semi stand up at my bros wedding in front of like 500 people. I know it was the alcohol talking but I had some written material. I would like to do a stand up not cause i am funny but more to just get that fear of my system. I am a social guy but I just think it's kind of a thrill and scary to try and do comedy in front of people.

and that's everything to it right there,  after you say your first few words it's not that bad and when you really think about it even if you make a fool outta yourself and take the L  there's so much stuff going on in the world that even if you do bad it will most likely be an afterthought within a day or so.
