Any way to paint 3M Jordan 5 tongue?

Hey guys, I just got 1999 Jordan 5 Fire Reds for cheap and I'm gonna fully restore them, but the one problem I have about it is that the paint on the tongur is coming off, and needs to be repainted. I know I can't just paint over it w/ gray because it has 3M on it, and I don't really want to. Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe there's some kind of 3M paint?

Basically, I want to paint the tongue but I don't want to lose the 3M.
