so far it has the new motor and ******, new rear axle, new brakes, new exhaust, and new dashboard. so it pretty much needs interior and exterior..probably just gonna have black interior for sure, but either black or a dark red exterior...still havent decided...
How long have you been working on it and are you get the racing strips?
I plan on restoring a 70 chevelle myself, my dad has a 72 also that he is still working on. Did everything himself except paint the car.

Ive had the car for a lil over 2 years now. For most of the time i just stacked up money and bought parts. it wasnt till i had enough to buy a brand new motor, new ******, new axles, and new brakes that i finally took it to my mechanic so he could start working on it. the old 350 that was in it is getting dropped intomy boys 86 Monte Carlo SS...

and nah, i doubt i'll do the rally stripes, i just wanna keep it "simple." Although i do wanna throw some Irocs on it

How much money you put into this?
umm... so far its been about 25k that i've dropped into it. I would've loved to have the car done sooner, but i just either didnt haveenough to spend on the car, or had to spend it on other stuff...like my girl

im thinking of getting an old school camaro, but i know nothing about cars.

just how to change the oil and all the simple stuff
Without even seeing the car and/or knowing whats wrong, you cant give an estimate for it as there are far too many variables to take into account. That said, a half decent frame-off restoration will run you about $40-50k, easy. With restorations you have to plan for the unexpected, so add another $5-10kontop of your believed cost just to be safe.

Unless the car has an extraordinary sentimental value, do yourself a favor and buy one already done. Quicker, less of a headache, and will definitely be farcheaper in the long run.

Well over the price quote listed above, though.

You boys looking good.

Ive got a 72 Cutlass Supreme that I'll be getting right over the next couple years. Planning for a built LS motor, 700r4 ******, 4 wheel disc brakes,22's etc. Want it to be something I can drive hard on the daily basis, leaning towards the pro-touring theme.
