I just made a wordpress and I was tweaking the settings.
I think I messed up the display of my blog because now it's all plain.
It's white and none of the dropdown boxes work.
When I try to upload pix if doesn't show the progess bar like it did before.
I have no idea what the heck I did to make it like that and I've googled searched and still can find the answer.
How do I restore it back to default settings?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hmm.. If you are on the free version of Wordpress, then you cannot edit and customize the themes that are offered to you. One of the drawbacks in their services.

What are you talking about? Wordpress is FREE regardless...you have to edit themes YOURSELF, but the dashboard remains the same with any wordpress theme.

OP...looks like you're missing code in a configuration file might be either "functions" or "index" php's, use a clean install and up load through filezilla...that's if you have your own server.
If it's one of those yourdomain.wordpress.com I can't help...not familiar with those.

No.  To edit your themes you have to pay.  You can use the themes they give you for free but you just can't edit them the way you want.  That's why I switched to blogspot.

What?! I GET PAID TO DESIGN WEBSITES ...I use Wordpress 3.0 Twenty Ten and create child themes from them on a WEEKLY basis...what are talking about?

You just don't know what you're doing, if you know CSS and HTML you can manipulate anything wordpress script if you know what you're looking for

His problem is functionality which I'm 100% sure it's the index.php or one of the function php's  that's corrupt.

He is talking about the official Wordpress hosting that wordpress does. You do not have as much customization features as you would have if you installed the script to the server.
