Anyone ever go to a car auction?

Specifically the Alameda County car auction. What happens exactly at a car auction? Any tips on how to buy?

take a mechanic or a dealer with you to inspect the car you want. when they are saying the bids listen closely cuz it sounds like a bunch of jibberish
