I'm going into my junior year of college and thinking about going across the pond for a semester. Anybody have any experience studying abroad?

But on the real I haven't personally done it but it is something that I wished I could have done. A majority of my friends who did it enjoyed the experience. It depends on a bunch of factors though, expenses, financial situation, personality, class, geographic area, etc.
More advice would be given if you post what area your planning on going to.

Currently living in Nigeria for 6 months. Not studying abroad ended up doing this as a personal trip since I have family over here.
I'd encourage the trip trust me living in another country is an eye opening exoerience.

Had an amazing time. it was a great opportunity, life-changing, met great people, gained friends from around the world and will probably go back.

I actually work for our Study Abroad office at my university....
I studiend in Barcelona for a semester. Hands down the most amazing experience of my entire life, let alone college.
Got to visit France, Italy, Portugal, Morroco, and Amsterdam while I was out there.

i got invited to have a summer school type thing in a castle in england before i went to college.
i was 18 and to ghetto to even take the offer seriously.
i wish i woulda went.

my archeaology teacher in college was gonna take some folks over to dig in Isreal.
again, my inate ratchetness kinda made me shy away from it.

I'm in my third week in Florence Italy right now studying abroad and it has already been the most fun experience of my life. If you like to party you can stay out and have a blast every night of the week until like 4am. I'd never been to Europe before so just seeing another part of the world is eye opening. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who can possibly do it.

Just came back from 4 months in Hong Kong and 1 month backpacking SE Asia. This experience changed my life and Hong Kong has become my favorite city in the world.
Met great friends from all over the world, gained new perspective, and lived it up before graduating.
If you are on the border think about when you will ever have the opportunity live in another country for 4 months.
BTW if you choose HK dorms are subsidized by the goverment.
I paid $625 for 4 months. SE is overall cheap as well.

If there is one piece of advice I could give to any college student studying any field, it would be to take a semester abroad.

Studied abroad in Montreal last summer right before I graduated. Best time of my life. Went out drinking 5-6 nights a week. Met amazing people. Smashed yams. Did drugs. Fell in love. Went to this one club where girls were walking around topless for a beach event. Smoked weed on the streets. It was hard getting used to my boring life in America when I returned foreal.

Spent 3 1/2 weeks in Europe (London, Cambridge, and Amsterdam). Life changing to say the least.

Studied abroad in Italy for 6 months.
Best time of my life hands down. Was nervous before going, and couldn't imagine doing anything more enjoyable for the rest of my life. College is a great time of freedom, but being across the world with that type of freedom allows you to have life experiences that you will NEVER be able to have again.
Just think about the fact that you can be in another country for 6 months having the greatest time traveling with friends without any consequences or putting anything on your life on hold. You're actually still moving forward at the same exact rate everyone else is back at school.
Pick somewhere, and try to start up the language if you don't speak it at all. It will make the experience that much better. Don't even second guess going abroad though...you will forever regret it.
