I've been learning that keeping it real in a corporate atmosphere can be very detrimental to advancing. So I do it anyway to let em know Im not to be messed with. But in a professional way of course.

at my job
its all about seniority
so even if they dont like u
if u tryna advance
and u on the top of the seniority list
they have to give it to u
only way is for them to cancel the position
repost it
and hope u miss it and hope u dont reapply

I don't even feel comfortable talking about my upbringing tbh. Every corporate job i've had everyone came up so privileged...

Facts! It just seems that the corporate atmosphere is soft and that just aint the way I was raised. I send one email debating a change in a procedure and all of a sudden Im sending threatening emails. Sometimes I think Im not cut out for the corporate space but I know my pockets are cut to receive those checks lol and I got mouths to feed.

Yep, and your raises are based on how long you’ve been at your job. That’s why it doesn’t really mater what your boss thinks. If he’s cool great, if he sucks don’t pay him any mind because he can’t do anything anyways.

Yeah you gotta be asking for it.
To get fired at my job you gotta get 7 warning letters for the SAME thing in a year.
Even then the union fights every single warning so they might not stick.
I’ve only seen people get fired in their first 45 days which is the probation period.
Most guys at my job don’t push it though. We just don’t follow the little stupid micromanagement rules. But we do a good job, just don’t expect us to wear our hard hats and not take breaks at the taco truck.

right
that probationary time is what gets folks
u need 90 days plus 300 hrs
in order to pass probation
u do that ur good
most time folks get fired cause of attendance
even with that u REALLY gotta be messing up
cause we get crazy vacation time sick time flex time comp time
all kinds of different time to be out of work
only time they start tripping is when u run out
or cause of time fraud
the folks with bad attendance get fired

We don’t really have that issue. You damn near gotta pull some guys out of the trucks.
It’s semi seasonal with pretty much unlimited overtime in the summer so it’s kind of a race to stack guap.
You don’t wanna **** up during probation though. You don’t wanna piss anyone off either because once you pass we’re stuck with you. If a new hire is trash we’ll tell the boss we can’t deal with him and he’s done.

@ going to someone higher up than you to settle differences. Too risky. They could easily make some **** up like you tried to step to them on some physical/verbal intimidation steez. It’d be your word against theirs. The EEOC is there for a reason. Use it. It does WONDERS getting people to act like they have some damn sense. And if they don’t, hit me with that complaint again. You gotta set the tone with people off the bat—nobody is gonna clown me at the workplace like that without some sort of repercussions. And it isn’t even about pride—it’s about this is my job and that **** isn’t cool.
Thankfully I can (and have) cuss out my higher ups and they won’t do a damn thing.
And I’ll still hit them with that EEO.
