Anyone Getting Paid To Write For a Sports Website?

I'm looking to get into sports writing and might as well do it on the side since I'm always watching sports. Anyone have a site that they own and payper article? Or is there anyone currently getting paid to write for a particular website? If so, let me know, share the wealth! I have a sample article ifrequested.

that's not how sports journalism works.

people dont get hired because 'they watch lots of sports so they might aswell write about it'.

Some will let you contribute articles, but they won't pay unless you are a professional. But, no, you can't just "watch" sports and think youcan be a sportswriter. You can blog and opine, yes, but being a sportswriter, a legit one, involves reporting, developing contacts and sources, et cetera.Trust that Simmons is the exception, not the norm. He's a gimmick, with clear bias and an above average understanding of certain sports, but know that manysports journalists frown upon him and few in the profession take him seriously.
