While I was in the mall today i stopped in the Microsoft store and was messing around with the surface and a phone by LG. I planned on getting the new Galaxy when it comes out in May but the windows phone seemed interesting. Prior to my current phone (Droid Charge) I had a blackberry storm and even though it was a good phone my main reason for leaving them was the lack of support for apps. Most of apps were only for Droid or the iphone. I have not seen a windows logo in many ads that show they make apps for it so I'm just wondering if they are out there and just not being advertised or like blackberry and not many to choose from?

Windows phones used to be the jam. I miss my htc hd7. But app-wise theyre just not worth it. The marketplace is basically nonexistent aside from office mobile when it comes to relevance.

Niketalk only uses Android. Windows doesn't exist.

Sent from my iPhone

don't do it, I have Lumia 920 since release. Zero apps. We JUST got Pandora yesterday. Battery is good, best camera on a phone, but its not enough.

I always thought if windows phones had the app marketplace that android or apple did than it would be a wrap.

Bill gates too money hungry for that though.

i dont know ANYONE that owns a windows phone

not joking

an even day to day i notice most ppl are either android or iphone

galaxy and iphone must be the top phones out most ppl use

Blackberry still winning.

I'm still rocking my hd7. The 8x wasn't a big enough upgrade imo to switch to wp8. I want to stick with WP but their best devices not even available on tmobile. Hell, they haven't even announced a new device to compete with the one and gs4. Probably just time to move on smh

Use to have windows phone, switched to iphone IMO worst choice of my life switching over...

I'm a bit disappointed in wp8 so far considering they already talking 8.5/"blue". Only new hardware spoken of has been affordable phones and rehashed lumia 920s for when the exclusive deal is up. I'm not buying a lumia 920 6 months into its lifecycle no matter what they do to it. Especially considering newer, better hardware should/will be on the horizon by the time its actually available.

also, the fact that samsung didn't even attempt to bring the ativ s to the US

Ive had an HTC Arrive Windows for about 2 years now and love it! I had an android for a hot second and really liked the Windows UI much better. I currently plan on upgrading to A Nokia WP8...but I may wait around for the new update that's supposed to be coming.

I WILL say though that WP is def playing catch up in the app department. As homie said above we JUST got Pandora yesterday. There are more often than not equivalent or 3rd party apps for most popular apps but I think if you use a ton of apps then you may be a little disappointed in the time being. Ive read rumors that many of the big-time apps are in the pipeline for the platform though.... so hopefully.

I say you use your trial period with your phone company and give it a test drive. Ive actually seen quite a bit of WP phones out in the real world... kinda surprised by how many ive seen tbh

Te whole tile interface is genius.

It's the lack of apps that will keep wp in the dust.

It's frustrating really, because I would throw my android in the trash and get a windows phone if only they had the apps.

I like mine. The lack of apps sucks. But it gets the job done. Plus everybody has the same phone so I wanted something different.

Lack of apps is really what's killing WP. UI looks pretty dope and the hardware is there for the phones that run them it's just the lack of apps. My brother in law has a WP and he really likes it. The Lumia's look really nice and i'd consider trying one out for a bit if they had more apps. Until then, i'll stick with android.

I love the fact that the UI just works and its really snappy. Apps aren't really a deal breaker for me, but hardware availability is. I'm waiting for the htc one to come out and I'll switch to android til wp gets their stuff together. If HTC drops a wp version of the One for tmobile sometime this year, (even though they said they wouldn't, wp htc phone supposed to have smaller screens for brand seperation) that will be my next device.

What apps do you guys think WP need?

I was willing to give a rehashed Galaxy S3 aka the WP8 Ativ S a shot, but it doesn't look like it will ever release in the US. The 920 looks/feels a bit bulky for me and the rumored 928 on Verizon doesn't look like an improvement at all. *sigh*
