Maaaan I just looked up the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and that joint is sexy!! I don't know much about Hyundai outside of them stepping up the look of their cars, and I seen that this joint had 40 mpg

Does the car being a Hybrid make cost of maintenance  more? Also how does Hyundai stack up to the others? I have a Camry know and that joint is a tank which originally had me looking at Lexus as my next step, but this car really caught my eye!

I own a CR-Z, same thing as a normal car except it takes 0W-20 oil.  Slow, my gas tank is 9-10 gallons and I get 40mpg.  Takes regular fuel, perfect for my lifestyle though.

I was looking at the 2007 ten Lexus ES as a daily driver, I don't need anything fast cause I`m not a speed demon, I just want amazing reliability and space, but from a value perspective That Sonata looks LEGIT, and looks good too, I just know nothing about the Hyundai brand besides I use to think it was a knock knock honda back in the day

Hyundai is legit now, I honestly think they took Honda's engineers, because Honda's have gotten ugly as far as design.  They are very similarly built to a Honda and I believe they have that 10 year warranty.  Can't beat that with a stick.  I used to have an Evo and a TL, so I can appreciate saving the money on gas.

nice! Would you say in Real world conditions Hybrid Sonata > Regular? Because there is a big price diff for like a 2011

If you do mostly highway driving the regular Sonata will probably be your best bet.  However if you do a lot of stop and go, city driving I'd recommend the hybrid.  I used to work at Honda and I would always tell customers the same thing.  Get the regular Civic instead of the hybrid.

OP, i don't know much about Hybrids. I would assume that they would cost less maintenance wise.

In regards to it being a Hyundai, %@@! THE HATERS. Hyundais are REAL!. They may not be expensive $#$ cars but them *%!@% look just as swagful as Benzes and Beemers.
Cop the Hyundai son. Best decision you'll ever make. Cop some tints and some speakers, maybe a set of rims, and you #winning.
Hyundais get the +%!@, you'll be feeling like a boss.
I have a sedan right now, but my next whip is definitely going to be  SUV/TRUCK. I need that big %+++ in my life. Make a young $!!@% feel like a boss. Right now I'm looking at  SEQUOIA, YUKON, TAHOE. But i wanna step it up manufacturer wise. Like a Lexus or Infiniti or something. But I'm not caked up like that yet. Gimme 2 years

05 Prius owner here but the Sonata Hy does look

The Sonata Hybrid is different in that it promises a very fun to drive hybrid, it doesnt compromise performance @ 200(?) horsepower to 105 of a prius
laugh.gif
It goes at an all Electric mode at like 60 mph
eek.gif
not for hours but better to a current gen Prius which gets to around 35 mph pure electric? Im just stating what I remember so take them with a grain of salt but im pretty sure

Overall what you can expect from a Hybrid is:

1) Great Mpg; the key to great numbers is how you drive it, the EPA estimates are for regular driving but with "hypermiling driving techniques" im sure you can get more.

2) Same or less maintenance to that of a normal vehicle with great warranty. Ive had no problems with the prius

And believe it or not, fun to drive, not in a thrilling kind of way but a "fun"  way, whatever that means

where you're trying to get more mpg. And the tech on these hybrids is
pimp.gif

How it compares to lets say a prius depends.. the prius has a simple goal: to get great mpg, not to go fast, not great looking (although I believe its
devil.gif
) so thats why a prius can get you 60+ mpg

Regular cars turned hybrids are just looking to add some mpg numbers (although I honestly think the sonata is trying to change that) Great styling w/performance but sacrifices mpg bc of the different hybrid system. The

Im no speed demon (an mpg demon

) so a prius fits me fine but this looks like a great Hybrid

Honestly, Hyundai came up big. My dad was thinking about getting a new car and I was trying to sway him to the civic...so he took me to teh dealership to see the elantra and then the civic. The elantra was cheaper, had much better features, and looked nicer, I was very surprised.

Man like real talk I was sold on getting a lightly used ES 350, I know it will be reliable so I wasn't too concerned with the premium gas, but I'm trying to be fiscally smart and that Hyundai is looking more and more attractive, and heck I can drive it too the ground and by then I'd prb be making the big bucks to cop a Lexus LS lol. I love the lock of this over the Camry and Accord which has me really thinking about it. With my job I'm looking to transfer or get a promotion back to my hometown Atlanta so my commute would be longer than what I'm doing now which is only 15 min, so this really is sounding like a smart move. I just don't want a big car note, and I see hybrids are in the range of 22 to 27 while the regular ones i seen as low as 16.5k

I really like the design of the Hyundai Sonata. It's clean on the outside and sharp on the inside, and the dashboard looks great at night.

However, the feel of the car isn't that great. I drove the regular one, and precise turns were annoying because the entire car felt detached from the steering. It didn't feel smooth/connected.

Otherwise, I liked the car. It was really well appointed and comfortable.

Did you ever end up coppin?? I'm in the market right now and I want a hybrid. This is definitely the best looking cheap one
