Should I get my mom the new $329 32GB iPad or the bigger $649 64GB iPad Pro?

She doesn't do anything too crazy -- Netflix, online shopping, etc.

Has anyone experienced this problem with their X and went to the Apple store with it? If so, what did they do about it?
I'm getting this message way too often lately and will have to visit the Apple store at the start of next week :smh:

Depends what’s wrong with the device. Could be a screen, rear camera or whole device replacement. You can call Apple care and have a diagnostic run.

Got a hairline crack in my series 3 Apple Watch that I got in October and they sent it out to to get fixed free of charge after the online specialist told me it wouldn't be covered :pimp:

Naked without the watch for a week but saving $229 to have it repaired is worth it.

I'm on a 6sPlus, want to get it replaced since it's slow as hell and the battery won't hold a decent charge anymore.

Was thinking of the 8plus, but should I wait? Will there be another phone coming out this fall?

But then again, I may not be able to wait that long.....

A new iPhone drops every year. If you can't wait and want a dope phone I would definitely go 8+. I have a X and still wish I would've kept my 8+.

I’m on 7+ still going strong minus a crack on my camera

I wanna hold out long enough until tmo does those “free iphone” promotions, usually when the newer model releases. I don’t care too much about having the latest

I'm thinking about upgrading to the red 8+. Whenever they do that color does it stick around for long or is it just a promo thing for a couple of months? I'm asking because I also want to know if the price will come down later on.

It’ll be out until the next iPhone releases then once the remaining stock is sold it’s gone.

So no real need to rush to upgrade. Cool. What about the price, though? Will that budge at all? I've never paid attention to iPhone pricing.

If there’s a promo through your carrier, that’s the only time really. Verizon recently had a promo that just ended where If you traded your iPhone 6S you’d get $10 off the monthly and like $15 I think if you had a 7. So I’d do it during a promo rather than when the new iPhone comes out because all they do is drop it $100 which is like $3-4 off the monthly finance

Apple wins patent for round-faced Apple Watch, seemingly not a rejected design

Apple has today been awarded a patent for technology intended for use in a ‘circular display.’ The patent text specifically references a wristwatch as one application, and one of the illustrations looks very much like a watch …

The patent itself is for a particular approach to handling the challenges posed by circular displays.

Pixel arrays often have rectangular shapes. However, rectangular pixel arrays will not fit efficiently within a device having a circular shape. Circular displays can have bottleneck regions in which signal lines become crowded, leading to inefficient use of display area. It would therefore be desirable to be able to provide improved displays such as circular displays or other displays with curved edges.

The specifics get very technical very fast, so we’ll leave you to read the patent for yourself if you’re interested. What’s of broader interest is whether it signals the company’s interest in a future Apple Watch with a circular display?

We frequently caution that Apple patents all kinds of things that never make it into products. These include product ideas which the company has explored and subsequently rejected, which would be the obvious interpretation here.

However, as Patently Apple notes, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Considering that Apple filed for this patent 8 months after the original Apple Watch debuted with its rectangular interface and likely years after the original Apple Watch patents for a watch, Apple’s management gave their engineers this project to work on. So this isn’t a rejected design after the fact, it’s a purposeful engineered solution to make a round interface work for Apple Watch should Apple ever decide to bring this to market.

None of which means Apple necessarily plans to make one. Apple may have rejected the idea at a later date, it could be a protective patent to make it harder for other companies to compete, or it could be technology the company plans to use in other devices with curved-edge displays, such as iPhones. But it’s certainly interesting to speculate.

Circular displays are inherently inefficient compared to rectangular ones, in terms of the amount of useful data that can be displayed in a given area – one reason some think Apple would never do it. But round watch faces do still have their fans for aesthetic reasons, so information density isn’t the only factor the company might consider.

Do you think Apple would ever offer the option of a circular Watch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

boy you done goofed the back of the X is more expensive to fix than the screen.

IIRC they say its expensive because of the wireless charging on the back

just got my 8 plus off swappa.

my question is, do i need the internet to do a restore from backup for my new phone?

I'll be bringing my laptop to work (during lunch) but the new IT guy changed the password and is being a douche and won't give it to anybody.... smh

Jet Black 7 plus still going strong since release. Nothing but small micro abrasions on the back which is unavoidable. Not one single crack. No screen protector. #teamraw :nthat:

Waiting for that XI Plus this fall.

Copped an iPhone X yesterday. Phone was on sprint network and they wouldn’t budge to unlock, just got it unlocked a janky way ( I guess) and I’m up and running on Verizon now.

Hairline crack on the back, apple and Verizon said $79 to fix. I don’t currently have apple care but I guess it would benefit me down the line to purchase.
