From what I heard from someone who I consider to be an expert, keeping shoes in their boxes is fine, w/o the paper.

How so, if the bags are left open to breath? Also, I'd assume it would prolong the life considering the shoes aren't against acid-based material like the box or paper.

That's fine, to each their own. This thread clearly wasn't intended for a person like yourself.Originally Posted by stevesteve72
^^ Yea, good point. I just like wearing my shoes. Id rather wear them and have them fall apart after years of use. Not crumble after years of just looking at them.

how is this thing work? anybody out there thats been using the item above for years please put any info out for it.. i live in AZ and my room gets attack by sunlight badly everyday. so i just keep my closet closed and some pairs are just outside stacked.. dont know if heat or the warm weather will make the shoes crumble or crack quicker in the long runOriginally Posted by jordan3cement
there was a post with some cleannnn looking plastic shoe boxes if you wanna go all out for collecting.. they seem to hold up well for preserving and keeping shoes fresh and slowing down the yellowing process..
i say go with those bags you posted and ONE silica pack per box outside of the bag.
i also recommend the product damp rid or a closet dehumidifier.
i have this product in a dark closet i always keep closed..
http://www.amazon.com/gp/...d_r=1WSPYA4M7ET4EBE9TX2C
costs about 4 bucks at wal mart..
but the shoes do need to breathe so break em out every once and a while and wear them around on your carpet or something haha

The stuff I really like (VI, III, XI etc) I buy 2 pairs. One to rock and one to stock for years down the road when I wear the hell outta the first pair........GET IT?!?!?!?!?
So yes some us buy shoes that we put in our closets never to be worn or to be brought out for the most special occasions............not to mention that some ppl get their kicks autographed.
I guess what Im trying to say is, everyone has their own prerogative and some of us look at sneakers as a hobby or something to collect..........some of us think theyre just shoes and yellowing "adds character"![]()
