Yes, to all you thirsty NTers for Ohio news, we are back at it again. But it is still terrible news.

The 38 year old US soldier blamed for killing 16 Afghan civilians is apparently from Norwood, a city within the Cincinnati area and lived in Columbus for a number of years. This shocking news hits close to home, because I know people who went to the same college he attended (Mount St. Joseph) and I know good people who work at that school. Just thinking that a man from the area committed an internationally-known overseas crime is shocking to me.

I believe we are at overwhelming pressure to withdraw ASAP. Hamid Karzai has said relations have "reached the end of the rope." We have seen too much bloodshed, and we have obviously failed our mission in that theater. We will be seeing Taliban in power again soon.

Oh.
you're one of those kinds of people who automatically assumes I'm a hypocrite when you didn't understand the message I was trying to send out. I've seen dudes get all humorous about Ohio for a good while being on this board. For future reference, I would rather not have to put up with your sycophantic "Oh" posts in the future, thank you.

lol what?
You can try to sound intelligent as you like, but why did you even need to mention that he was from Cincinnati in the thread title? The Ohio thing has been dead for a while and chances are no one would have even made the connection had you not brought it up. So yeah, cool post bro.

Wait, this hits close to home because you know people that went to the same school? Not even were friends with him... but went to the same school.

People always try to attach themselves to something big so they can feel a part of something.

I'm sorry you don't appreciate the same sense of community I do; I consider it a tragedy to hear that a man around my area blatantly killed civilians in another country.

I consider it a tragedy that a man killed 16 innocent civilians. But I don't need to attach myself to the situation because he walked in the same sidewalk I walked 10 years ago.

He killed 16 people and they dont put that in the news but they do put how 1 us died like Jesus died

If you wanted a serious thread, you wouldn't have even mentioned that in the first place; it's wholly irrelevant.
But you did mention it, and I did comment on it, and now you're booty-tickled.

Oh.

Im not trying to make this a "service a vs service b" but almost every time i hear about some service member going off and killing a bunch of people its an Army cat. Ft Hood was the same way. And every time i read the Marine Corps times, and it lists the deaths of service members in theater, its always a bunch of soldiers that died from "non combat related circumstances". Its safe to say that the Army needs to put more effort into recruiting higher quality individuals, and MUCH MORE effort into maintaining the mental health of its soldiers
