Aroldis Chapman Thread.

I cant decide whats more impressive/scary...

that he can throw 105

that he can throw a 100 slider

that he can actually control those to hit the strike zone

or that he can go off speed with a changeup at 85 at any time.

100% agree

Don't F with him like the Yanks did with Joba...he was throwing 99-100 too

Yeah he didn't throw a 100 mph slider, it was more of a cutter. He started of Escobar or Luccroy with it, don't remember which one but he started it out on the outer part of the plate and it came right back over the heart.

I don't think he'll be in the rotation next year as were pretty deep there as it is, he will probably set up for Cordero, who thankfully is in the last year of his deal next year.

@ Yankees fans still taling about Joba's wack self...Joba's talent isn't and never was anywhere close to Chapman's level.  You make the kid a starter long-term.

His slider clocked in at 89 I think.

The Reds were down when I got of the bus, then I walked towards fountain square and people were cheering, then came the fireworks

I love this city. FTR we have one of those big screens downtown on top of our Macys so people chill on the square to watch games or movies on movie nights.

I don't think so with Chapman.  His delivery has gotten way more compact than it was in spring training, he's a lot more fluid to the plate than Strasburg is/was.  His arm slot has improved and it's really making his fastball and slider work well together.

I disagree and think he should be a starter, though.  You can find closers anywhere, arms like his that are built for starting you can't.
