Same. I always just liked & dated Filipino guys. Plus the population of the area I was raised at is mostly Filipino.I feel like this is the reason I could never be down to BE WITH one, the cultural references and differences would be too different.
they’re the only ones who laugh at my jokes.
They just do that to be polite

I think ignorance over malice is fine.. which seems like this is. Don't think it's worth being offended and attacking her over it. However, the bigger issue is the ignorance of white people to make those hand gestures. I'm sure they meant no offense, but the widespread ignorance of different cultures in some parts of this country needs to be addressedthis. also im pretty sure thats a qipao, which is Manchurian. I guess it can be considered Chinese though....
Yep. Slant eyes gesture, "smelly/stinky" lunch, weirdo for using chopsticks at home, being ashamed my parents couldn't speak English well, last name being laughed at every time I won n award at school and had to have my full name announced. Story of many immigrants' childhoodthis reminds me of when I was in college interning and I had to assist a middle school teacher for 2 periods. i came in the class full of kids and the first thing I see is some kid doing that sign and bowing down to me. I stood there like
Reminded me of elementary, middle, and high school all over again I experienced **** like 24/7 back in those days.

People being upset over this is exactly the type of divisive bull**** we don’t need. It doesn’t matter if she wore it without knowing the cultural significance behind it. She did it with the intent of thinking it looks good. Nothing malicious, racist or offensive behind it.
People appreciating the asian culture whether it’s culturally or purely aesthetically is always a positive. Other people see it and it’ll gauge interest. Sure, it sucks it takes a pretty white girl to make it noticeable, but at this point anyone showing appreciation with our culture can only be encouraged.
Those dummies who are upset over this should stop listening to hip hop also, let’s not culturally appropriate something predominantly black. So ****ing silly.
