I know its been going on for years/decades and i sorta understand why boutique do it. like hiring a person for a job, a customer who gets to know the staff and is a regular will get priority over a stranger= so highly coveted sneakers get backdoor to them.
but what happens when everyone does that? does it get to the point where they give all their stocks to people who visit often, hang around their store often , etc? then when new people who visit these boutique and wait on line for a chance to get one, suddenly its sold out? i would imagine mayhem would occur. and last thing any business want is a bad reputation.
How does it work? if you could provide like a detail sorta documentaries on it it'll be informative for sure!
