Backpacking Stories?

My friends and I are thinking of backpacking somewhere overseas...Anyone who has gone, where did you go and how much did you end up spending?

Feel free to share any other stories, recommend a place, suggestions (we're not even sure where we want to go yet).

I've been to alot of places - from Morocco all the way to Serbia, but not on the back packing steez. Tho cost has to be assessed by where you want to go, currency exchange and etc.

Japan is a nice place to visit but your wallet might not like it.
