I absolutely love the start of baseball season. More than any sport. There's just something magical about Spring baseball.

I have said this before....but I really dont see Albert going to one of the big market teams. ALL of them already have firstbasemen locked up for the long term. Im not saying the Yankees or the RedSox wouldnt want Albert.....but would they really pay 30 mil a year for a DH?
I would have to think, even teams with that unlimited type budget would have a hard time forking out that kind of money for a designated hitter.

Our biggest FA pickups were Clint Barmes and Bill Hall.
Carlos Lee is still fat.
I don't think anybody in our rotation throws harder than 90.

As much as we all hate making the joke, (and then it coming true) saying "The Yankees do need a DH" just pisses me off for real.
The Phils starting staff is gonna be fun to watch. They need a damn bat, and I hope like hell that if I say Aramis Ramirez enough times, somebody out there will hear me and make it happen.
Carlos Marmol just got locked up for 3 years by my Cubs. It's pretty sad that he and Starlin are all I have to look forward to these days. But God damn Marmol is fun to watch pitch. Dude is disgusting.
Who makes the NL Central thread this year? I need another thread where I can talk to myself all day like the last few years.

Still struggline on O, but you still have to love what they have on their pitching staff. Adding Pineda's live arm to the mix is exciting and one can hope that if Bedard can come back fully healthy and a potential 15+ game winner, the M's will be a tough out.
Interested to see whether Fister and Vargas are the real deal. I like Vargas, but still skeptical of Fister.
