Next week, “The Dark Knight Trilogy” officially enters its well-earned retirement with the release of “The Dark Knight Rises” on DVD and Blu-ray. But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, as Warner Bros. is giving director Christopher Nolan’s masterful Bat-trilogy a fitting sendoff via THE DARK KNIGHT LEGEND EXHIBIT, open this weekend on the Event Deck at L.A. Live. MMM was honored to attend a special preview of the exhibit before it opens to the public on Friday, November 30, at 12:00pm (local time). Hit the jump for more.

Fans all across the country have had the opportunity to see all of the live-action Batmobiles over the past several months, thanks to the Tumbler Tour. Those who missed the Southern California stops are getting another chance, but for the first time ever, all fans have the chance to see a massive collection of costumes, props, art, and models from “The Dark Knight Trilogy” in one place. Each major character in the trilogy is represented by his or her costume from “freaks” like Batman, Joker, and Bane to “normal” people like Commissioner Gordon, Alfred, Lucius Fox, and John Blake. Landmark props such as the statue dedicated to Batman at the end of “The Dark Knight Rises,” the bomb Bane used to hold Gotham hostage, the Bat signal, and the clown masks from the bank heist in “The Dark Knight” are also featured. Art models for sets like the Batcave, the nuclear reactor, and Bane’s prison add yet another layer to the completely immersive experience.

There’s no telling if or when a collection like this will be displayed under one roof again, so any fans of “The Dark Knight Trilogy,” or movies in general, who are able to get to Los Angeles now through December 14th should brave the crowd to see THE DARK KNIGHT LEGEND EXHIBIT. It is the greatest retirement party I’ve ever seen, but more importantly, it grants us an opportunity to relive Nolan’s series like never before. Quite frankly, there is no better way to prepare for and celebrate the completion of THE DARK KNIGHT LEGEND.

I actually just re-watched TDKR last night. The first fight between Batman and Bane is such a great scene.
