Lupe may be a great lyricist, but he will never be the MC (Microphone Controller/Master of Ceremonies) or artist Kanye is. I respect Lupe and I feel he is more important to the future of Hip-Hop as a guarded culture than Kanye West, but I'd much rather listen to his interviews and lectures than albums. Possibly gay/barber shop/mixtape 'Ye had more mic presence than Lupe.

Why would you say Kanye before MBDTF? That's easily one of Kanye's best albums.

Anyways, as a lyricist, Kanye in prime is no where near Lupe in his. There really aren't that many rappers that can touch Lupe at his best.

Though when it comes to making music, I don't think anyone in the industry knows what they're doing more than Kanye. He literally can not make a bad album.

Lupe will always be the better rapper. Kanye will always have better beats and more hits.

You should include before Lupe's last abortion in the title and honestly 808s isn't a good showing of Ye at all so you should be excluding that before singling out a superior album in MBDTF.

Don't really see why you'd compare the two other than Chi roots connection and that debut collab, and speaking of when Ye put Lu on you could tell off jump they were two different rappers anyway.

I feel like in all honesty we are comparing apples and oranges. Ye makes amazing tracks and Lupe has wordplay that will blow anyone (intelligent enough to listen)'s mind.


Head to head though? Lupe wins hand's down and by a mile.
