Had em after some illegal Mexicans lived next door to me. Had half the block infested
From what I learned, this is how u can get rid of em before the infestation spreads.
1. Buy any over the counter sprat w/ Pyrethrin or Permathrine as one of the strongest or strongest ingredient. It's a chemical takin from a plant and it breaks down the exoskeleton of insects. Insecticides don't work b/c insects have evolved and built up an immunity.
2. Any spiders, centipedes, and even roaches (believe it or not) u see in the crib, don't kill em. They are natural predators to bed bugs.
3. Check ur bed for infestations. If u see any dark spots in clusters or smell an orange scent. They're hidden or have been on ur bed. Wrap the posts of ur bed w/ plastic or get some of the those plastic bed boosters since they can't climb up plastic and metal.
* I read that and slept in my recliner w/ metal legs the whole summer after bein bitten one too many times. Never had a problem until I fell a sleep and my cover was layin on the floor
4. After u wrap the posts of ur bed w/ plastic or purchase the plastic boosters, spray ur bed down not missin a crevice. Next buy a plastic mattress cover (u know the kind they have for kids beds when they pissin the bed) again, they can't climb and walk on plastic. Not to mention it suffocates them.
5. Remove ur bed away from any wall since they can crawl up and get on ur bed via wall. They're attracted to ur breath when u're sleep and know when ure sleepin and know when ure awake
6. Boric Acid is another tool that works wonders since it also breaks down the exoskeleton of an insect. put some where u want as added security in the house.
Don't think that u can do any of the suggested things and be coo in a couple of weeks because they can live up to two years w/o eating. If u have a really serious infestation, call an exterminator. Any furniture u don't want to throw out, cover it up and put it outside for a few weeks. It should be more beneficial since it's gettin colder out and extreme cold and hot conditions can kill em off.
Hope this helps
