Best hotel on Las Vegas Strip to stay in?

Slightly more expensive than the lower ends ones like Harrahs or Flamingo but the room is 10x better and the price difference isn't that big.

man me my main chick, and one of my boys decided to make a random last minute just for the hell of it trip to vegas this past weekend.  once we got there every hotel was booked so we had to settle for some dingy hotel quite a bit away from the strip because everything was full. never ever again

worked for me at the mirage with no prob. booked the basic standard room, got upgraded to a deluxe room 25th floor with private elevator access.
 
Ive stayed in almost every strip hotel in Vegas & the Encore is tops in my book. The best club in the city, XS, located in the Encore & just a 2 minute walk from their Tower Suites. It really depends on what type of experience you want.
Best Value: MGM Its reasonably priced & although the rooms are older in comparison to the newer casinos, still nice. It's at the beginning of the strip which is a no no for me. Second would be Planet Hollywood. Decent rates, prime location & their buffet was voted the best in LV.
Bare bones: Excalibur/ Bally's/ Luxor/ Imperial Palace/ Tropicana. You can probably find rooms at these properties for 25-60 on a non-holiday weekend but the rooms leave much to be desired.
Best Location: Anything center strip obviously. Bellagio is dope but its an older crowd, Ceasear's is always full of activity & a fun place to stay, Planet Hollywood was mentioned earlier.
Best Room/ Experience: Encore hands down. Although near the end of the strip which is usually a deal breaker for me, you really don't have to leave the property. High end shopping galore, great dining & nightlife. Hell, you can even play blackjack while in the club. Venetian used to be my go to spot but I was definitely won over. Planet Hollywood is dope too, although off strip, this is another spot where you don't have to leave the property. Make sure you stay in the HRH tower because club Vanity is on the second floor.

beat me to it..! went to vegas 2 months ago just because and we booked at the ARIA .. very affordable and i think its the nicest Hotel in Vegas.. the exterior and interior of the hotel is

SO I cant seem to find the official Vegas thread, but im going 4th of July weekend staying at the monte carlo and I heard club prices are ridiculous this time of year, is that true?
 
I stayed at the Stratosphere my first and only time going to Vegas and would advise you not to stay there. Technically I guess it's on the strip, but it's so far down on the end that you're away from everything. Even if you have to pay a little bit extra to be in the middle of the strip, it's worth it IMO.

Its cool to party at but dont stay there...too far off the strip you will have to travel to and from. Stay at either Planet Hollywood or the Venetian.
