whats up NT,

i am looking for a good pomade.
i used to use queen helene gel, which i really liked but as i am getting older, i am trying to move away from that wet, immature look, to a more mature look.
lately, i haven't bene using naything, and just brushing after it dries.

i have semi curly, wavy hair. any help/suggestions is much appreciated.

i HATE the wet look too...

get garnier fructis surf hair. Its around 4 bucks and works pretty well for me when I grow my hair out.

I don't think a pomade is what you want. Pomade are thick petroleum hair products. CLogs your pores. Wouldn't recommend it for anyone.

this.pomades are a definite NO

I use Baxter of California's Clay Pomade. The clay is used instead of the petroleum to give the hold but with more a flat matte look instead of the shine.

thanks for the headsup.

does anybody have any alternatives to the pomade then?
much appreciated.

Not sure about giving you a WET look, but Olive Oil, Coconut Oils, Castor Oils, are very good for locking in moisture.

yeah, i mean "wavy", i have nothing close to waves.
its just that i have fuller, thicker hair than the average white boy.
its longer, if i was to pull down my hair, it would probably reach the middle of my nose.

something along the lines of brody jenner, justn ot that long.

Murray's is also good, but more of a hassle to wash out whereas Layrite is water based so it's easier to wash out like gel.

this is what you want.

holds well.. water soluble so it washes out of your hair every night.
They also have wax version (yellow/orange cap) so if you're going to someplace like a pool party or the beach... your hair won't end up flat.

good luck trying to get them waves..

check the Wave thread..

one other dude i know who joints is more spinning than mine is mr waves.
