Best Prepaid cell phone service?

whats up NT my lil cuz is coming from cali to stay with me starting after thanksgiving hes 14 and just started high school this year. Im told him id look intogetting him a celly for xmas this year. I prefer to go the prepaid route for him that way if he's not paying his bill it wont affect mine at all. so anysuggestions on the best prepaid company out there as far as call coverage, phone selection and monthly pricing?

yeah man forgot to mention cricket isnt an option...he'll be traveling back to CA from time to time and cricket doesnt have coverage in that area..ivepersonally had cricket before will never go back

tmo/att/metro. id pick tmo or att because of the sim cards. i dont know if metro does sim cards. so if lil dude breaks his phone, he can just take the sim outand get another phone and get to talking.
