BGSU vs. Kent

Has anyone attended/attends either of these schools (Kent State University or Bowling Green State University)? I was accepted at both with full funding for a master's in history and need to make a decision soon. While the decision will depend more heavily on academic fit and the program, I would love any advice/insight/criticism of both schools, and/or cities.

One of my old teammates goes to Bowling Green...has nothing but praise for it.

my brother goes to kent state, he likes it there, but the area is pretty boring

I would go with BGSU personally, almost went there myself.
