Not well. I actually ended up removing my headset and walking away from my computer for a solid 4 mins before saying something worse. When I came back, she was still rambling on about nothing.

So she couldn't even acknowledge how rude her approach was? At least say, "My fault" and change your approach.

Did she at least change from that point moving forward?

His starpower being used to purposely destroy the Black community even more? By him or by whoever is pulling the strings.

Make your money but understand there are consequences when our major stars endorse these liquor brands.

Yes, folks will drink if Bronze endorses them or not.

Always hurts me to see our people promoting stuff detrimental to the community.

Brother Malcolm I will say this, one big up LEBRON he didnt win that Bronze medal on his own, that's AI and TIm Duncans team. I will agree with you here on this point. Lebron is a such a POWERHOUSE, if youre already worth over a billion dollars why do you still need to endorse garbage brands like Hennessey? What do you have to prove with them? Imagine if all the powerful black athletes, entertainers came together and owned our brands 100%. Why do we still need THEIR validation even after all the sucess we made?

bron already had his own liquor brand, no? this is probably strategic to that…i do think it’s an interesting phenomenon but i don’t see it as a majorly detrimental, especially these times when the knowledge of the ills of these vices have been educated/indoctrinated in us to the point that all the data says folks are consuming way less alcohol (especially younger people)

Harvard wants AA's to believe this. Issa trap...

how so? it makes sense but it’s a bit nuanced…all it says is that according to her research black to parent households doesn’t do as well/offer the same advantage as a white 2 parent household; to which it might be interesting to ask, given the almost inherent structural/systemic inequalities here that result in the existing disparity in wealth, did/do most black families hold that expectation necessarily? not that black families expect less but i’d think it’s more about maximizing their own outcomes to whatever advantage/opportunities they can avail themselves of, which most would understand to be not as plentiful generally as their white counterparts…

Also, did Lebron not (actually)start a school in his community? If he uses money from this deal to fund the school, is this still a bad thing?

Im just saying I need to fact check this white writer at this white school with my people's....

Just to be clear, I have no interest in defending LeBron.

However, substance abuse issues are largely the result of economic conditions and mental health challenges, not celebrity endorsements. Somebody who doesn’t drink or rarely drinks isn’t becoming an alcoholic because Bron, or Beyoncé, or anybody else has a brand. And quite frankly, a lot of celebrity owned/endorsed brands don’t sell that much anyways. (Curry and Jordan are a few examples)

I get the point because it’s not how EYE would want to make my money, but I think the net impact is negligible in the grand scheme of things.

LVMH been using black folk

That's how the Arnaults built their wealth

Ok, you're right. The question remains, if he donates the funds from Hennessey to the charter school, is this still detrimental to the community?
I don't view "righting a wrong" as a way to remove the wrong. The wrong still exists, donating the money (which we know is a wild hypothetical in itself to even suggest) doesn't erase the fact that another one of our biggest names is attaching themselves to a damn liquor brand.

So to answer you question, YES it is STILL detrimental.

I feel like petty hatred is wayyyyyyyyy more detrimental to the community than alcohol but aight. Definitely kills more black people than Hennessy.

I mean there is no way to quantify what you classify as "petty hatred" but we can look up data on how alcohol related issues affect our community.

Also, not sure the point in the whataboutism in this case but cool.

And we look up data on effects prolonged social media usage but here we are…but that’s different doe. The type of person that will drink their life away is going to do it regardless of Lebanon James and/or marketing. If there was no alcohol, they’d do something else. I have actually looked at data. While our children are generally more exposed to alcohol advertising, we still have a lower rate of alcoholism. It’s not even remotely close to being a big enough problem to feel like is doing a disservice to the black community. Honestly, NT is the only place im seeing this even being discussed…and it’s all negative. I’d go as far as to we don’t care and aren’t moved. I know that, I’d hope you know that and LeBron knows. The only people that don’t know we don’t give a damn is LVHM. Thats what makes it petty.

Again, it isn't just about LeBron James and Hennessey. It's about ANY famous black person being a walking board for damaging behavior/lifestyles. I mentioned this from the jump.

If you feel that is a non-issue because, "Those people will do what they are going to do regardless" then cool. We can just agree to disagree.

But people get paid large amounts of money in the marketing field and people get paid a lot of money to promote products for a reason.

We can drop it though.
