:{ colonialism still holds strong.

First of all… our women need to start wearing their natural hair. That’s a starting point. That’s one of main strong holds of colonialism that needs to be unlearned

We need another 1970s era upheaval man. I hate seeing us represented in the public eye with relaxed hair, or straight weaves. That’s not how we naturally look.

But back to the subject, my girl is Jamaican so, I’m about to ask her about this video and see if she can give me some baseline information

We still wearing wigs in court in some west African countries, to this day. Think about that for a second. Long way to go.

This is the type of shh that be pissing me off and insulting our intelligence. Mfs went and got Beyonce like black folk just follow these entertainers blindly

Had damn Stallion up there doing what she does but if you speak out against it folks find ways to deflect/defend. "It's our music, why can't they embrace it." #Respectabilities

It's INSULTING.

They be playing right in our faces.

No, that doesn't mean I believe the other side would treat us any better.

They do **** like that cuz it's become a popularity contest. I don't care about them showing up and performing. They're the entertainment.

I'm more so concerned about uninformed celebrities actually speaking about **** they don't know about as representatives of our community.

And it’s a trickle down effect. These young people barely know how to read or comprehend.

Illiteracy and lack of comprehension is killing us the most

Thats a slippery slope. Notoriety is a helluva drug. We should stop looking for “leaders” and just share, ideas, philosophies and strategies.

I has no problem.with Jim Brown as being seen as one of our leaders even though he was an athlete. Only thing I'm interested in Meg yapping about is that WAP. Sorry...

Nobody that accumulated head trauma for a living should be up for consideration.

You serioys!?:rollin :lol I doubt he would have the sane view of Trump today if he were alive.. Dave Chappelle expressed the same sentiment the first time Trump got elected and he never played football. I feel like JB body of work is more than 1 quote from 10 yrs ago. Im glad Kapermick didn't get shut down because of head trauma

I'm confused.

So let me ask a straight up question.

Do you want someone that has EVER endorsed him politically to "lead" us?

Whether it's in 2024 or 2016.

Possibly. Depends on the type of endorsement "he won the election so I'm going to see what happens and hope for the best" possibly vs"vote for Trump he's the best candidate" :lol with the caveat that there was public confession of being wrong.

Jim Brown's words are pasted below.

Are these the words of someone that you want leading the Black community?

A number of high-profile athletes, from LeBron James to Stephen Curry, have strongly criticized Trump, and Brown admitted his support for the President was unlikely to win him any friends.

"That would make me very unpopular in the black community, very unpopular with a lot of Americans [...] but I think that there are certain good things that are coming out of this Presidency because we've never seen anything like it," he explained.

"I mean there's confusion. A lot of people are retiring. A lot of people are giving their opinions and we have to really dig deep down inside to come with the right kind of an answer."

Either way…. You can’t discredit what Jim Brown did. One of the leaders of the civil rights movement amongst other athletes with Bill Russell, Ali, etc.

I ain’t gone let you do him like that. The man fought the fight for a veryyyyyyy long time.

DC tripping. Jim Brown is one the of reasons you can vote and even watch sports freely. Dude was on the frontline in the 50s, 60s, 70s when s*** was really real.

We will NEVER get this ensemble of men again

Can’t blame Jim because other negros got money and forget about the movement.

At the point, the man was tired and on his last legs anyway. I will give him grace for the Trump nonsense.

Again, we have BLACK men out here who admire Trump, but criticize Jay-Z and say he sold his soul. Make it make sense :lol :lol

This is a black person issue, not a Jim Brown issue

This man was brokering peace treaties with the bloods and crops. You’re trying to dismiss over a half a century of groundwork that Jim laud down. That’s crazy disrespectful.

“Someone who got hit in the head for a living shouldn’t speak”

But yeah, let’s listen to these new aged entertainers who don’t even know how to read, rap. All they want to do is do drugs and go viral for being idiots

Nobody that accumulated head trauma for a living should be up for consideration.

Now paste the decades of work that Jim Brown did pre 2016…

You wouldn’t even be able to fill up the page. You talking greasy about Jim, smh

The conversation wasn't about Jim Brown in the 60s, it was about Jim Brown "If he was still alive." (Not my words)

Follow the conversation man.

He died at 87, he would’ve been 90 in the present day. Ya’ll would be idiots to expect an 80-90 year old man to continue having a sound opinion:lol :rollin

Like this convo. Who are 10 informed community leaders you would feel good about representing us?

This was the question. So Jim Brown's name shouldn't have been brought up.

Present, Modern, Alive, Humans.

If that's the case why not name Malcolm X or MLK?

Exactly my point. HE shouldn't have been brought up.

For me it was. I typed "i has" when it should have been "i had" in reference to the work he put in as an activist and leader despite being an athlete entertainer accumulating head trauma for a living. I still respect his work despite the quote that was pasted.
