Black NTer's: Can I Put Waves In My Beard?

I was looking at the Tim Duncan's beard just now and it looks like it's the same grade of hair as the hair on his head.  Bearing that in mind, if I grew a beard and let it get out to where it could be faded and whatnot and put carrot cream in it, brushed it, etc., could I put waves in it?  Just wondering...

LES I THINK it was but i'm not 100 on that.It's been a few years.It's actually not as bugged as people would think ONLY if it's done right though (and it's not for everyone either).
