Blue Valentine

Got around to watching it tonight, thought it was great. One of my favorites of the year. Gosling and Williams were both amazing in their roles. Cindy was such a **#@% but you can counteract that Dean tore apart everything she ever says to him. I loved the struggle between the two. Definitely watch if you get a chance.. only gripe I had with it was the ending.. but whatever.

Caught this last night and... MAN...

I thought the movie was great. I thought the way the past/present were juxtaposed was done really well. The movie also self-referenced itself throughout the entire movie (making it worthy of repeat viewings). The makeup crew for this film deserve some type of award or something. The way they transformed Gosling and Williams was incredible. Subtle and believable.

My favorite thing was the bit about 'potential'. I was wondering why Gosling was getting so worked up about her harping about his potential and why she cared so much then it goes back to when they were at her parents house talking about her own potential. I think the biggest thing that tore them apart was her never forgiving herself for not fulfilling the potential she saw in herself. The ending was too real. I didn't want it to end that way and I was hoping for some Hollywood ending but I'm glad it ended without a real conclusion...

I guess the ending was left that way was because they had a kid, they were always gonna be in each others lives so there's no point in giving the audience a clear cut answer on what decision they decided on. Gosling has said that it's just a story(the present) about 2 bad days a couple are going through, so I like to think they end up staying together. These things are too common and a very well made movie on how relationships get tiresome and people lose interest. Good stuff.

Saw this one today finally. Thought it was great, Gosling and Williams were spectacular. End does leave it a little open but maybe there is hope that they stayed together when she just said I need a little space right now. The couple is so real it hurts. The fact that Dean raises Frankie likes it's his own is truly heart felt and awesome at the same time.

Debating on seeing this, might go this weekend or wait for Redbox . I heard it was really good, I wish it was NC 17 but I read the only difference is the sex scene. I saw the pics on Egotastic.com if anyone cares
