Book recomendations?

A Tale of Two Cities is one of my favorite books in general. It's historical fiction, humorous, apage-turner, and generally very well written.

just picked this up the other day, half way through and its a great book..

4hr work week? efficiency/effectiveness? sounds like your training yourself to be an efficient slave to the capitalist system

Don't read Atlas Shrugged. Maybe Fountainhead, but never Atlas. It's about 800 pages too long, and I love long books.

I recently really enjoyed Europe Central by William T. Vollman. It was a pretty crazy read, and fairly difficult, but the guy is an amazing writer.

Also recommend any Vonnegut, and the Tim O'Brien book already posted.

while i wouldnt go as far as recommending anyone NOT read a great novel such as the alchemist,
there are HUGE merits in reading "self-improvement" books, you really have to have read one to understand what im talking about

everyone should check out some eckhart tolle, especially his "the power of now" (basically about ballin out at every minute possible)

Also, read the song of ice and fire series by George RR Martin. The first one is A Game of Thrones.

I'm currently reading The Informers by Brett Easton Ellis. It's about the lack of moral fiber in California in the 80s. Pretty good book, short, quickread.

Malone Dies by Samuel Beckett is next on my list.
