Is/does anyone know anyone who is doing Border Patrol? And does anyone know if they liked it?

Any info would be helpful. I am going to do an application tomorrow morning. Do i need anything or should i expect anything?

Uh, have you watched Border Wars? Good luck with that. I can't imagine how much harder that job has become with the current drug war.

Here's a story from a few days ago:

Border Patrol agents in Texas were fired upon after chasing a suspected drug smuggler back to the banks of the Rio Grande close to Anzalduas Park. Though rarely reported by the mainstream press, armed conflicts along the border with Mexican drug smugglers are becoming a rather common event. (Link to Story)

what do you mean do an application in the morning? you apply online to take an exam and if you get a passing score you get the 30 page pamphlet from hell. turn in the paperwork, pass an interview, then starts a 3-4 month background check. after however long, you might get offered a job and then you go to the academy. good luck, bro. i have friends that do customs and border protection, but theyre not out in the field

A friend was encouraging me to apply anyway and to give it a shot if hired but, I mean having a permanent job is a real good deal and would boost me up a lot in the different fields that the boarder patrol can lead to, but as Bean Pie Slang mentioned above, these drug wars are getting a lot more hectic.

i heard they need to hire a 1000 agents (to replace national guard troops) by jan so if you pass the test your chances of getting in is pretty high
