Funny, I just watched Ong Bak, for the first time (last night). I have been sitting on the DVD for about 7 years.I think people understandably look at boxing as an “aggressive” sport and it obviously is in some respects.
Great release of tension and aggression throwing punches.
I personally like it because I feel like it also keeps the mind sharp. Staying focused. Reacting to punches coming to slip/weave etc.
One of the guys I train with also does these tennis ball drills that keep the mind sharp.
I don’t spar anymore. All mittwork. Not trying to take punches at this point. I need to save all the brain cells I have
