My dude. I'm fairly big in personal accountability as well. In my eyes, the vast majority of life, you get what you earned/deserve.Him resisting is what made her pull her gun out in the first place, if he don’t fight and jump back in his car there wouldn’t have been a mistake because she wouldn’t have pulled out
y’all making it seem like I’m defending the *****, both parties are at fault
And yes, what you state is factual to an extent. If mans doesnt resist, he doesn't give that lady cop the reason to shoot him in that moment for that reason.
3 issues here though with your overall tone on this thread.
1) I said your statement was true to an extent. If mans does not resist, who is to say they won't find another reason to mistake their taser for a gun? This is why you're being provided examples of people who do comply and still end up dead.
2) Not complying is no excuse for death. It simply doesn't equate. Even with as big on personal accountability as I am, that truth has to come before accountability. Life is too precious and shouldn't be taken away by someone because you did not follow orders. Police arent here to be judge juror and executioner. Yet far too often they take that responsibility in their hands. Guy gets away from you? Go back to your precinct and file a ******* report.
3) Your entire focus up until this post I am quoting is strictly about what the deceased did wrong. Folks ain't trying to hear ONLY that. Someone else has come in and spoke to how he resisted. Correcting others who said he was complying. The very next paragraph from the poster however went on to state the officer should be fired and jailed because such an outcome is not acceptable. You posted a whole lot of "personal accountability" before mentioning "both parties were at fault." Your focus, in my opinion, is placed in the wrong location. The decision to run from the police is far less egregious that the decision to kill someone. And the people are going to focus on the more egregious act. The one that continues to happen time and again during these interactions. The act that is never fully punished.
