Button down with shorts. Yay or nay?

Shorts have to be casual and the button down either has to have short sleeves or have its long sleeves rolled up. Also important to not wear socks with the shoes, assuming you're not dumb enough to wear sneakers, as it kills the look.
 
As mentioned - Sleeves rolled up, loafers/ Jack Purcell's, clean shorts...Can't lose

It depends on the sizing of the shirt. If it fits right then ya but if its a big shirt then no.

I just copped a button down and wanted to know this too

What do ya'll think of regular long sleeve shirts w/ shorts?
