Calculus Unappreciation

i can't stand my calculus class...
smh.gif

definitely unappreciated

Appreciated as of right now... doing integrals using trig substitution, by parts, and partial fractions, ...easier stuff but i knowseries/convergence-divergence is gonna be a B next chapter.

Calculus is one of those classes that you either get or you don't. You'll either end up with a D or an A. I remember doing so poorly in it and then onenight in bed a switch went off in my head and I just 'got' it. Hard to explain, but yeah.

I love math and calculus.

I'm taking a class called "Dynamic Models in Biology"
Math is all Calculus using biological models.

I hate it... The teacher just sucks at explaining everything.
All we do in class is try to keep up with everything she writes on the board.

AND I have a test on this tomorrow... so back to studying.

Hey, help a dude out with this one:

Take home test on implicit differentiation

xy^2-y-2=0, solve for dy/dx

I'm hurtin here

I went from having mostly girls to only 3 girls and 20+ guys ....... talk about a depressing way to start your morning

Btw the only thing I absolutely abhor is precisely plotting minuscule decimals ..... while complex numbers is like making @!@% up just 'cause you need ananswer

Try electrical engineering classes. Only 5 girls total and only 2 are decent looking or better. One of those is married.

man i dont wanna get in this math stuff but i need to for my engineering class

If this were few years ago, I would be right there complaining with all of you students. However, since I have to pass a series 7 and I am taking the LSAT andI have my job,I do not have much sympathy for people in hard math classes.

It's like that "Back in the Day" song "I wish tah tal lI had to do now was finish homework." Finish your homework and stay with it andmost of you guys are smart enough at least pass.

dy/dx = (y^2)/(1-2xy)

Yea, I dislike Calculus & Math in general. But you can't deny its importance.

I'm takin Calc now, and I'm struggling. I go to the tutoring center every chance I get but the thing with math is...

How do you study for it? Can you?

When doing homework, WebAssign, Take home etc, I use math websites & Yahoo! Answers. (Quick Fix)

im struggling seriously right now. being a computer engineer, i have to take high level calculus...

just finished convergence/divergence. moving onto vectors.... and this is just the beginning for me
smh.gif

^^ Try parametrization for a triple integral boundary. =/

I can do derivatives. Just the prof this year sucks so bad. How you gonna teach us with x,y,z variables and put your gradient vectors as a row and on the test, expect us to adjust to x1,x2,x3(yeah, pretty much same thing) and put the gradient as a matrix as a column. Yes I am venting, this is my second semester takingit after Q dropping it last semester cause that teach was beyond unorthodox( all we did was draw surfaces). This year is even worst. All he does is go overtheorems in class, no examples. Then on the test, give out NO PARTIAL CREDIT. Its either a 25 or 0 on your test question. How you gonna give no partial crediton a close note, close book, cumulative second midterm. He has the worst rating for a calculus teacher ever at UT(ifyou got to UT do not take Charles Radin for Vector Calculus m427L, go to UTlife.com if you wanna check him out). Cumulative midterms....cumulative no partialcredit mid term.....*&%@#*!!!. Vector calculus is looking like the first round and I am tracy mcgrady, I'm never going to pass it.

that's the worst. same for me in the my other AP classes. i wanna go up and punch the s#$% out of my teacher when i see those type of problems

Calculus is awesome(sarcasm).... taking 1A right now. I understand it, but I forget everything the next day

Make y=xy^2 - 2
then make
y'= y^2+x2yy'
then subtract x2yy'
and factor out y' from that expression to get
y'(1-x2y)=y^2
then divide both sides by (1-x2y)
and get
dy/dx=(y^2)/(1-x2y)
