Yeah, I'm thinking it is a recent year as well. Hard top convertibles just started to get more modern across vehicle lines recently.

But you two do realize e36 and e46 hardtop are existent right?

naw you're right. but 328 became 330 in 2002. now 328 are back along with 335i's

Oh ok coo. Thanks for the help all, so are there any reasons to cop this over the SLK? Or vice versa?
 
There's an optional hard top on the E46's that are normally rag tops, kinda like the S2000. And all of the E93 328's are hard top from the factory.

Personally I would only get a convertible if it's a sports car, not sports coupe...ie Benz SL, BMW Z, etc.

Well the Z4 would be better compared with the SLK which also came in a hardtop convertible this year
