i think its POSSIBLE, who you think he'll compare to

Doesn't have the midrange like the mailman. Can potentially be a better defender than Karl. Definitely way more athletic than Karl. I honestly don'tsee the comparison... Cuz he's big??

A variant Shawn Kemp/Antonio McDyess....

not seeing so much of the Mailman in his game....Carl was lethal from 15-20 out....but, Blake can always develop that part of his game tho....

Eh... Similar body types, both are great rebounders, but the skill sets aren't really the same...

I have a friend who just beleives that Griffin is about to be a bust of epic proportions. We battled on and on about it yesterday.

I said he could be a little better then what Kenyon Martin was, pre injury Kenyon that is. Like 02 Finals K-Mart. Is that fair comparison?

I don't see the Kenyon Martin comparison at all...

He's already more skilled offensively than Kenyon ever was in my opinion...

I can see it. I don't people remember how much of a savage Kenyon was at Cincy before he broke his leg. He was super athletic and nice in the paint with adecent lowpost skill set.

Griffen is stronger and a much better rebounder plus Kenyon has a pretty low offensive basketball IQ. Griffen post moves may not be super polished yet but heunderstand how to use his size to get leverage and score. Once he extends his range and refines his post game he will be a nice player. Mcdysee comparisons.Plus he can't defend half as good as Kenyon.

From his workout.

First, Griffin appears to be a much better ball handler than your average big man, excelling at two-ball and three-ball drills as well as change-of-directiondrills. In fact, he had a better handle than anyone else on the court, including combo guard Anthony Goods.

Second, Griffin can shoot the ball with range. He's no Ray Allen, but he showed the ability to consistently hit the college 3-point shot in the workout. Ifhe can just make a 15-foot jumper in the NBA, he could be unstoppable.

I don't know I can KIND OF see Kenyon. Kenyon has developed an (although ugly) jumper that he can knock down. I haven't really seen Blake's abilityto consistently knock down anything outside of 5 feet. But I don't watch as much college ball as much as most of you do. I still think he has time, but itreally depends on his work ethic, if he works at it, he can be as good as he wants to be.

As good as the Mailman? That's going to take a LOT of work. I say no.

When Karl came in the league he was a beast athlete and he developed that midrange jumper. I can see it.

Reason for all the Mailman comparisons, is because Malone had absolutely NO J when he came into the league ....... also Kenyon was almost as athletic as Amarewhen he came to the Nets, those fastbreaks use to be Lethal when they got JKidd

I don't see Griffin having that type of athleticism, I'd say pre-injury Mcdyess and if he develops a J and some nastiness, then I'd say a moreathletic Malone

See, this is why I don't get people talkin about"He can't do anything offensively. He just out-athletes people!" crap... It's not true at all...

He's not a finished product, and he needs some polishing, but he improved DRASTICALLY from his freshman to sophomore year... And I don't see any reasonto believe he's tapped out his potential... He's only gonna get better...

i think Blake will have to bulk up to get to a Malone body type.

i don't see him having that type of career.

Exactly and judging but what I read it seems like his work ethic is ridiculous. A fat contract won't soften him up.
He didn't come to the league to make money like most of these rookies nowadays, he came to hoop. He's just gonna continue to get better.
No bust here.

Malone comparison is on point....Malone came into the league like Griffin with very little range.....what will make them comparable in the next 5 years is thework ethic he'll get there just give him some time
