It's Canon's competition to the Red camera. That is why they made such an effort to have little short movies and directors to endorse it. Canon seems to be going for the affordable route since Red Cameras are 60K or so but we have yet to know if the movie industry will imbrace it. It really just depends on how it performs on the big screen and on TVs.
