I have a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe and basically I had to put on the spare this morning after getting my car towed a couple of nights ago.  My tire popped and my car reeked so this cop made me get towed home.  So I drove to the gym this morning with the spare on the front driver side.  Now as I went to leave my car wouldn't move when it was in reverse.  So I press the gas and I get a screeching noise.  Car won't move back or forward an inch without making a horrible noise and it pretty much won't even go if you force it.  I left it there in the shopping center near my house and walked home.  Any ideas because I am baffled.

screeching is usually associated with some belt. but you should be able to move. its not drivable at all? Automatic?

^This. But I'm just as baffled that the car won't move. I wonder if something with the gas pedal line is snapped or something like that. I remember that happened to my car some years back but I don't recall a screeching noise. Basically I'd put my foot on the pedal and the engine would slightly rev but that was it. The car did not go. I may have this wrong. I'm gonna call my step pops and ask him...

Car's drivetrain could've gotten messed up from the tow or your car could have many other problems. If it's an auto, one of the clutch baskets could be messed up. I know that is the case for some cars that can't reverse. Can you move forward?

I had notes out during the test and the professor caught me. Will I get expelled? Suspended? Or will I just fail the class?

Thanks for the highlight.  You should follow your own advice.

To the OP, sorry I don't have any more advice.  I would get it on a flat bed to a shop.  You can probably get tow assistance for cheap by adding it to your insurance plan.

Sounds like a drivetrain (possibly driveshaft/******) issue. Could help being a bit more precise with where you heard the screeching noise. Question, is your car an automatic? Was it towed from front wheels? (The rear wheels are still on the pavement)

I have an 06, you may have better luck with advice if you post it at G35Driver.com as I may of been discussed previously
