Car Title Question

I purchased a car recently from craigslist,and i misplaced the title(don want to believe i lost it,so i wont say it) how would i go about getting a new one? I never put the car into my name,and since it was off craigslist,i doubt the owner would go to the dmv to get a new one as a favor for someone they dont know at all. Im in Virginia if that helps.

Go to your local DMV. Theres a process you have to go through and it costs $... I forgot the exact process, but I do remember having to go through the DMV

yeah, something like that... They have an option to receive it the next day which costs more.

Nah, I think the title holder has to be present with a valid state ID. Just call the DMV fam'... They'll explain the steps you need to take.
