I agree with this....he has upped his defensive game since the addition of Big Shot....

I understand Duncan is a vet and has done a lot in his career but I'm referring to in the now!! there is no way Duncan is @%%@$*@ with Melo at this pointin their respective careers....

broy can also make a case
B Roy is interesting to bring up...because in the future I believe he will surpass Melo on this list but not just yet....he's on that KD%#@!....in the future there will be discussions about them teetering on the Top 5 list....

What?

NO WAY D12 and CP3 are ahead of Melo
I'm gone.

Peace

I just think Melo brings more to the table.....I will say that Dwight obviously has more rebounding and defensive skills because of his size butwith 1.5 ticks left who do you want taking that final shot....Melo or D-12??

Bad argument, because if you go w/ this thinking, then there has never been a center who was the best/top-5 player in the L. because mostcan't shoot.

Offensively Melo is up there tho
only reason I put Melo above Dwight is because past 10 feet from the basket Dwight is inaffective.....and Melo can pull out (pause) and hit that 18 footer consistently...or pop out occasionally for the tre plus he can rebound.....
He's a center. His primary objective is to dominate AROUND the basket. A jump shooting big man is a luxury...not a necessity. I'm sure if you poll 30 GMs and ask him who would they build their franchise around...Donut Percent would say Melo.

understood he's a center my dude.....but the fact remains Melo's a better overall player....I take it your as surprised as DC with people in here actually saying he is Top 5 if not he's right there...or on the verge of being there....who's ur 5 though I'm curious...

unless he's referring to the horrible performance CP had in the playoffs last year.....I don't see where he's inconsistent....

I hope he's not because I could bring up Melo's lackluster performances during his past playoffs runs

%@*++% be going waaaaaaaaay extreme with the comparisons.....Robert Horry !#%@ outta here
laugh.gif

so Horry is on the same level as Melo??? ya'll %@*++% making me sick with all this Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard *%!%.....

I would take Melo to start a franchise over D-12....ya'll %@*++% really not valuing Melo for what he is....a proven scorer who can play some D, pass andrebound and the only person that can stop Melo is himself....

for straight offense you would take CP and TD over Melo?

HELL NO

tough call in fact im going with d12 = cp3

both> melo.

and if yao could keep his %#% on the floor isnstead of busting or spraining something ever 6 games then

Yao> all 3 of them.

respectable numbers from both.....obviously because of Melo's longevity he has better stats.....but last year there was a significant drop in CP'snumbers....

men lie women lie numbers don't
wink.gif

Now, the argument is going to be that Melo's dropoff's were more than CP's and Melo altogether just played worse. (Prior to this season)

Melo's my favorite player in the league, but at this point in time he's Top 10, which is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

Duncan is also a respectable choice....I just think Duncan's prime has passed and we've seen the best he's going to be...he ain't getting no better....
If you basing that list on progression...then you might as well rank KD over Melo because he certainly has a much higher ceiling due to his height and length

That's what i'm saying. If we going on progression we can list Durant, Rose, Mayo, etc.

I haven't read through everyone's list but i'ma have to go with

Wade
Bron
Kobe
CP3
Duncan
Dwight

AND

YES...even Paul Pierce i think still got it over him. I expect a lot of hate coming for saying this.
